Open Challenges

Trekking, biking, walking, swimming, within the UK or far away…there’s a challenge out there for you and Parity for Disability can make it happen!

Parity can work with you on the challenge of your choice, coordinating with one of our trusted partners to book the event and provide information on preparation and training. We will also provide fundraising advice and support so you can raise funds that will both cover the costs of the challenge and help the charity maintain its day to day services.

To discuss your challenge, just contact Helene. You may also wish to check our calendar page for this year’s planned events.

AC Adventures

AC Adventures is an adventure travel and activity company based in Snowdonia, Wales. Ross has partnered with Parity for Disability for several successful sponsored abseils and can organise many other challenges including mountaineering, rock climbing, and hill walking. For the range of activities available, visit www.outdooradventures.co.uk.

Community Action Treks

Community Action Treks (CAT) is a travel company specialising in trekking and climbing in the Himalaya and other mountain regions. It was founded by mountaineer Doug Scott, the first Briton to climb Mount Everest.

Once their running costs are covered, the proceeds from CAT challenges to the Himalayas go to fund community development projects in the areas where they take trekkers. As well as helping Parity, you would be benefiting the people of Nepal. CAT funds projects like schools, health posts, clean water supplies and income generating schemes.

CAT takes trekkers to a range of challenging destinations and has partnered with Parity for Disability on several successful Himalayan treks. Visit www.catreks.com

Tandem Skydive

Perform a tandem skydive for Parity with the Hinton Skydive Centre. An amazing experience for people who want to try skydiving for the first time – jump out of a plane strapped to an instructor!  More details are available in the information pack.

Swim the Channel in Your Local Pool

Swimming the channel might seem like an unlikely achievement but the 21 miles can be covered in several weeks of regular visits to your local pool!

Plan how much distance you will cover each week: 64 lengths of a 25 metre pool = one mile.

Parity will provide all the fundraising advice and support you need and you will receive a medal and certificate to mark your cross-channel achievement.
