Parity for Disability are one of the 2019 recipients of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The annual award is equivalent to the MBE and is the highest award that can be made to a voluntary group. Parity for Disability relies on over 100 volunteers including the charity’s Trustees.
Parity for Disability Executive Director Alison Cooper said:
“The Queens Award for Voluntary Service represents the hard work and dedication of all our volunteers, today and in the past. From the parents who fought to set up the service for their young people with multiple disabilities to all those presently giving their time to supporting Parity. Their dedication has allowed the charity to become the established, award-winning organisation that it is today.”
