Volunteer

The time you put into volunteering will help maintain Parity's vital services for children and young adults with multiple disabilities.

Volunteering for Parity

Whether you just volunteer for us for a short time, or you become a Parity volunteer for life, we can work around the time you have available and how you want to be involved.

Below are details of volunteering opportunities at our upcoming events, in our shops and within our services. To find out more or to sign up as a new volunteer, please contact Bernadette at the Parity office on 01252 375581, send an e-mail to her at info@parityfordisability.org.uk, or complete our volunteers form.

You can also support us by taking part in one of our upcoming sponsored events or sponsoring someone who is. Please click here to visit the events page.

Volunteering with Parity's Services

The staff working with the people who use our services are all professionally trained and continue to build on their training while working for Parity. There are places for volunteer assistants. Please contact us to find out more about volunteering in one of our_day_centres or on our teenage activity schemes.

Events Volunteers

To be available on evenings or weekends to help set up for events, assist during, or pack away at the finish. You don't need to be there for the duration of the event, any time you give will make a difference. Contact Helene.

Saturday Club Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help run a pilot project at Fleet Baptist Church, a Saturday club for young people with multiple disabilities in their early 20s. Full training will be provided. The club will initially be held once a month. Volunteers are needed to support the young people in their activities both at the base and out and about in Fleet.

Volunteering in Parity's Shops

We have three very busy, friendly shops at: 69 Camp Road, North Camp; 53 High Street, Frimley; and 9 Linkway Parade, Church Crookham. If you would like to find out more about being a shop volunteer, please feel free to drop into one of them and chat with a manager. Contact Parity.

Trek Volunteer

A volunteer is welcome to join us FREE on our next trek (in 2009, date TBD) in return for helping recruit and motivate 15 other trekkers. You would not be responsible for organising the trek itself, just spreading the word to companies, clubs, and other organisations, providing application packs to interested people, and then staying in touch with and motivating the team of trekkers. We would provide presentation and marketing materials, and any further support you might need. Experienced trekkers within Parity would be available to provide advice and help develop a training programme.

An exciting opportunity to take part in a real challenge and one not to be missed!!

Volunteer Freelance Journalist

To place articles about Parity for Disability in magazines and other relevant publications. We are looking for an experienced PR professional or journalist who can create coverage in addition to our current local publicity. Contact Helene.
